1. Apologies and substitutions (09.30 - 09.35)
1.1 The Chair welcomed Committee Members and members of the public to the first meeting of the Public Accounts Committee.
2. Potential Audit Legislation (09.35 - 09.45)
2.1 The Committee agreed to write to the First Minister regarding the Welsh Government proposal to develop audit legislation, to highlight the importance of independence and recommend that it is more appropriate for the Committee to develop the legislation on a cross party basis.
3. Update from the Auditor General for Wales on the WAO forward work programme (09.45 - 10.15)
3.1 The Auditor General updated the committee on the Wales Audit Office forward work programme.
3.2 The Legal Adviser agreed to provide a note on the abolishment of the Audit Commission in England and the implications for Wales.
4. Update from the Auditor General for Wales on the WAO report on Hospital Catering and Patient Nutrition (10.15 - 10.30)
4.1 The Auditor General updated the committee on the Wales Audit Office report on Hospital Catering and Patient Nutrition.
4.2 The Committee agreed to take evidence from the Accounting Officer and the Commissioner for Older People in the autumn term.
5. Private session (10.30 - 11.00)
5.1 The Committee resolved to exclude the public from the remainder of the meeting in accordance with Standing Order 17.42(vi).
6. Discussion of findings of the forthcoming WAO Report on Adult Mental Health Services
6.1 The Committee discussed the findings of the forthcoming WAO report on Adult Mental Health Services.
7. Discussion on forthcoming Committee activity
